Past Programs

CYLA implemented the following programs:

  • Capacity Building- Capacity building and skills training workshops for young politicians in political from all CYLA affiliated political parties on non-violence and issue based campaigns.

  • Peace Walk Against Political Violence - CYLA presented a petition to the electoral mother of Zambia, the ECZ in the Chilanga 2018 may parliamentary elections.

  • CYLA Youth Debate Zambia- These were two phased debates that were held to debate on how to increase youth participation in turning out to vote and also adoption by political parties for councillor as well as parliamentary level.

  • CYLA Budget Analysis - CYLA in conjunction with UNZABECA and the Mulungushi Economics Students union to analyse and create awareness on the 2020 national budget in Lusaka at the university of Zambia and in Kabwe at Mulungushi University.

  • Report on Youth Participation in Elections - The Center conducted a research on the participation of young people in elections; the report highlighted key issues that affect the participation of young people in elections and challenges/recommendations thereof. The report was shared with all relevant stakeholders (Electoral Commission of Zambia, political parties, CSOs, NGOs, youth-led Organizations and others).
